When The Leader Stops Learning

Sometimes a leader stops learning because they believe that “they have everything figured out”. They have reached a certain level of education (or income) and feel as if they are “good to go”…and I might add, they are…but why not reach higher?

Consider this, Jim Rohn is a multi-Millionaire and he often talks about how he needs a lesson or two from a billionaire. And he is the mentor to the masses, yet you will see Jim at his own events taking notes in his journal. Then my question to a leader is simple. Are you taking notes or making notes? Leaders that have a great resume seem to use it as a license to stop learning. But I see the BEST leaders in our industry continue to set the example. They continue to learn, and listen to their people, not themselves.

The biggest mistake leaders make in network marketing is that they fail to adapt.
What worked 5, 10 or 20 years may not work as well in the 21st Century. I see the best leaders in the industry teaching a combination of 20th and 21st Century business building skills. Furthermore, it’s critical to adapt to the 21st Century prospect. Take a look back to 1994…how many prospects were using the internet to find a home-based business? How about in 2004?

Another example is personal development training. If you were to ask Bill Bailey how he created 64 million in ONE month over 30 years ago in network marketing, he would say that personal growth was the key. I hear leaders sometimes say….”I don’t like that speaker” or “We don’t need that speaker” or “We don’t need that additional training”…
But it’s not about what you think… it’s about your people, your team.

Many leaders become complacent after years of success. And leave their team behind…the team that helped them get to the level of success that they are enjoying at the present time. As a leader myself, it is important to remember that a leader cannot stop learning if you plan to continue being a leader. You owe it to yourself, but most importantly to your team. Internet Marketing...Now Is The Time!

Although some people are still reluctant to accept the fact that computers are not going away, every part of our lives in one way or another are going to be influenced by the internet...if they're not already. So I knew this would be an obvious endeavor for me to pursue. A person has to be willing to change, and right now, you can make a great living marketing on the internet. And I feel blessed to be able to be a full-time entrepreneur working from the comforts of home, avoiding the daily commute, while earning a good income. You can check out my great opportunity at TraVerus Travel

All I do is use the resources that are out there for anyone. The free websites like MySpace www.myspace.com/larrybuhrandt as well as YouTube, and the many other Web 2.0 platforms to promote my business that generate free leads, and drive massive traffic to my websites without having to spend a penny on advertising. All this and more, I share with the people that come aboard my team. Because I do not want anyone on my team to fail at this.

I saw my life begin to change when I started to do what I wanted to do in life. And using the internet to leverage my new business was the answer to making it all happen for me! I quickly put my newly learned marketing techniques to work for me...here's just one example of what I can do. http://www.lookwhatlarrycando.com/

I was always under the impression that websites like MySpace were for the school age kids, and that I was too old to get started with that. But when I learned that MySpace has 180 million users, and as many as 240k of new sign ups a day, I realized that I could use MySpace to get free targeted leads that would be awesome prospects for the business I'm marketing.
Through sites like MySpace, YouTube, and others, I do unlimited presentations daily using Web 2.0 strategies. Instead of working 9-5 for someone else, I am working 24/7 on autopilot. Without selling, I am having free leads and traffic lining up to talk to me!

So now is the time to get onboard, while online marketing is hot! Work smarter, not harder!! You have to be observant, ready to react, and then willing to make the necessary changes to capitalize on what you've learned.
